Nowadays, it is more and more popular for electricity generated from solar energy, you can build your own solar power system easy.
All parts of a solar power sysetm is functional, solar inverters play the role of transforming DC to AC. When sun rays fall on the photovoltaic cell in solar panels, they are converted into direct current (DC). The DC then goes through solar power inverter and is converted into alternating current (AC). If the house is still on the grid, the electricity reaches the house with electricity from the commercial grid. If the house is not attached to any commercial power source, the DC power is stored into storage batteries until needed. When the DC leaves the battery, it passes through solar power inverter and is changed to AC and then flows to the house in usable form (AC).
There are two types of solar power inverters available in the market, the Modified Sine Wave (MSW) and True Sine Wave (TSW). The TSW solar power inverter is more popular as compared to MSW. It is preferred to more home based Solar Energy systems. These solar power inverters are available in 12, 24 and 48 volt units. When planning to buy a solar inverter, it is advised to purchase an inverter that has more volts than the storage battery in your power system. Solar power inverters are not a cheap device and therefore should only be purchased from a trusted supplier. Make sure that you get proper warranty and check for the materials being used for making your solar power inverter. You can also start by setting up a Mini Solar power system in your house for use in some sections. As your budget permits, you can then buy a larger solar inverter and add power to what you are already using.
Today, solar power is affordable for almost everyone. With the latest advancement in the world of solar power systems it has also become an easier and cheaper option. Commit to proper planning and buy a solar power inverter from a trusted company like to make sure that you get maximum possible output from your solar power system.
Have you ever think what will you do if your car battery is power off? The car will not work and the driver will be stuck wherever they are until they get help. It is therefore important for one to be able to tell if a car battery is dead so that they can make the necessary changes to avoid inconveniences. The first tell tale sign of a dead car battery is the failing of the car to respond when the driver puts the ignition key in and then turns it. Another sign could be a clicking sound usually heard when the cylinoid engages. Another way of knowing the battery is dead is if one turns on their headlights and they do not light up. When a car battery dies, one has the options of either charging, changing the battery or jumpstarting it. However, one can only jumpstart the battery if it has a voltage of 11 volts, anything below that means they have to change it. If one decides to change their car battery they will have to open the hood of their car. Upon opening the car’s hood one will be met by things such as wires, engine blocks, rubber hoses, metal tubes which may make it slightly difficult for one to locate the battery.
Then instrument used for charging a battery is called a charger. The charger has two cables; red and black. The first step is to connect the black cable to the negative and the red to the battery’s positive terminal. If one’s battery has a charge indicator has a “green eye” they should charge the battery until the indicator turns green. If it does not have the indicator one should charge it for thirty minutes then check its voltage; 12.6 volts is as sign of full charge. A multimeter set onto a range of DC Voltage range bigger than 12 volts (full scale) should be used. One should then touch the black probe the negative part and the red to the positive side. A five amp charger will charge the battery for over eight hours. Other powerful chargers are best left to experts. A one amp charger (cigarette) cab be connected indefinitely.
One should then ensure the terminals of the battery are clean because a white powder build up between the cables and the terminal hinders large current from coursing to its starter. The next step one should take is to use a Voltmeter to test their charging system. This should be done as the car is running. One should place their multimeter upon a voltage range (DC) greater than 14 volts and then touch their probes to the terminals of the battery. For effective charging one should use voltage of about 14.0 to 14.5. A millimeter’s part for measuring current can be used to check if there is any leakage in the current which is causing discharges in the battery. There are times when the current can be insufficient for the meter’s.
